SCHEDULE AND FEES

First Tee – Canton Junior Tour has scheduled events at area course in or near Stark County.  Dates and times are posted on this web site each Spring. We currently offer six tournaments plus the Invitational event to close our Junior Tour.  Boys and girls ages 13-18 will play 18 holes at $45.00 per event. Boys and girls 10-12 years of age will play 9 holes at $30.00 per event. The participants will be given a hot dog and drink at each event. Range balls are not included in the tournament fee.

AGE GROUPS

Boys and girls ages 10-12 play nine hole events. Boys and girls ages 13-18 play eighteen hole events. The Schorsten Memorial is a two day, 36-hole event for boys and girls ages 13-18. You may play up in an age group in any event if you request at registration.  If you turn 19 years of age you are no longer eligible for the tour. First Tee – Canton Junior Tour is for intermediate and advanced golfers. Beginners may call First Tee – Canton for available golf and life skills classes or go to register for more information.

REGISTRATION

Registrations for all First Tee – Canton Junior Tour events must be completed online before 3:00 pm the Friday prior to the event. Please do not call the hosting golf course for entrance into the event. Any participant that is not registered by 3:00 PM on the Friday before will be denied playing in the event.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE

The deadline for each event will be 3:00 pm the Friday prior to the event. NO EXCEPTIONS!

TEE TIMES AND PAIRINGS

Tee times will be e-mailed to the address provided to First Tee – Canton during registration. Please keep your e-mail updated so we can provide you with your tee time and pairings. You may also view tee times on our website.  If your tee time is not posted please call First Tee – Canton as soon as possible. Please be at your starting hole 10 minutes before your scheduled tee time. The Tour Director has the right to disqualify the contestant for being late for his/her tee time. No refunds will be granted.

Players should play at a prompt pace throughout the round. Players are both allowed and encouraged to play “ready golf” in a safe and responsible way (Rule 6.4b).  Tournament director has the discretion to handle slower golfers as needed.  

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

There will be no refunds issued for cancellations after the registration deadline. Please check your calendar closely prior to registering for an event.

NO SHOWS

If a junior does not show for an event after they have registered, they will forfeit their entry fee for that event. Entry fees will not be applied to a future event.

RAIN RULE

All age brackets will be competing on the same nine holes. If an age bracket has completed nine holes, then the tournament will be deemed complete. The tournament golf professional may invoke a local rule to permit preferred lies in extreme weather conditions and will have the right to cancel due to extreme weather. No dollar refunds will be issued.

CONDUCT

Please conduct yourself properly and courteously on the course, in the club house and on the property of the host site. Cheating and not following the USGA rules and etiquette of golf are not permitted. Use of cell phones by players or spectators is not permitted on the course. Any use of bad language or throwing equipment will not be tolerated.  Proper golf attire will be expected.

RULES OF GOLF

Play will be governed by the United States Golf Association Rules of golf. If there are any questions on the rules, it can be settled by the tournament golf professional or one of his associates.

CADDIES AND CARTS

In First Tee – Canton Junior Tour all players must carry their own clubs; however, pull carts are permitted. Caddies will be permitted for the 10 to 12 year old division. There will be no motorized carts permitted without a valid doctor’s note.

PLAYOFF

In case of a tie for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in the any division, the tie will be broken based on the USGA recommended method for score card play offs according to the USGA Rules of Golf. This includes the points for this event. If possible, a tie for first place will have a playoff.

PRIZES

All prizes will be issued at the completion of each age division. Please do not leave until prizes in your age division are given out.  If a player leaves prior to the completion of the age division, the child could forfeit their trophy and tournament standing for that event.

PARENT AND PLAYER CONCERNS

If a player is concerned or upset by the actions of another player or parent, they must report the problem to the tour professional or one of his associates before he/she signs his/her scorecard and/or before leaving the scoring area. Although we want the parents to continue watching their juniors play, parents cannot get involved with the players.

SPECTATORS

Spectators may not advise participants on club selection or how to play a shot on the hole, and must remain ½ hole away from all participants and caddies. There will be NO MOTORIZED CARTS issued to any spectator without a valid doctor’s note which must be provided at the registration deadline for the upcoming Monday tournament. Spectators may help look for a lost ball without conversing with the players. First Tee – Canton has the right to deny spectators from watching the tournament. First Tee – Canton Junior Tour is for the benefit of the contestants.

POINTS CHAMPIONSHIP

The Top 9 point earners in each age group will play in the Invitational Championship. See the schedule for the date and location. In case a player cannot make the championship the next highest point winner will take his/her place. Points are rewarded for First Place, Second Place, Third Place and participation. If there is a tie for the ninth spot, the lowest scoring average will break the tie. If you withdraw from a tournament, points will not be given for that event.
